St. John’s holds steady in sixth place after 36 holes
DADE CITY, Fla. (March 14, 2022) – Angelica Kusnowo's first-ever hole-in-one was the highlight of the day, as the St. John's women's golf team sits in sixth after 36 holes at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club on Monday.
Posting a 36-hole score of 593, the Red Storm entered the clubhouse 14 strokes behind tournament leader and cohost Florida Gulf Coast.
"Our team played solid today with good performances from multiple players in each round," said head coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo. "With a bit of a backup on the fourth hole, multiple players on the team were able to witness Angie's hole-in-one during the second round and it served as a nice boost."
Kusnowo led the way for the Red Storm, finishing the 36 holes with a combined score of 144 to tie for seventh. The Chino Hills, Calif., native posted the only ace recorded at the event.
Jessie Kweon closed out the day locked in a tie for 18th. The senior carded a 147 and added four birdies during her second round of the day. Cloe Clocchiatti finished a stroke behind Kweon, posting a 148 to tie for 22nd place. She recorded 26 pars in 36 holes, good for second in the field.
Andrea Sanchez finished the day tied for 56th, shooting a combined score of 155 and carding an eagle during the event. Rounding out the Red Storm squad was Karen Beglin, who came into the clubhouse a stroke behind Sanchez at 156 to finish in a tie for 63rd.
St. John's will close out the event with 18 holes tomorrow, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available via GolfStat and all results will be posted to RedStormSports.com at the conclusion of each day.
