Peicheng Chen is tied for 12th place after one round

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (March 7, 2022) – St. John's men's golf sits in 12^th place after the first round of Ross Collegiate Classic at the Mid Pines Golf Club on Monday.

As a team, the Johnnies shot 310 (+22) for the day, sitting 18-stokes back behind leader Elon, who posted a 292 (+4) opening round. The teams only completed one round during the opening day instead of the scheduled 36 holes.

Peicheng Chen led the way for the Red Storm, posting a score of 73 to start the event tied for 12^th place. Tyler Gerbavsits signed off on a 78 to finish tied for 49^th after one round. Gage Wolfle followed closely behind with a score of 79, leaving the junior in a tie for 62^nd. Rounding out the Red Storm squad were Jack Simon and Ryan Rittberger, who each carded an 80 to tie for 77^th place.

Competing as an individual, Thomas Stafford came into the clubhouse with a 79 after round one to also tie for 62^nd. Joseph Busiello shot an 82 for the day, placing him tied for 87^th.

The Johnnies will complete the Ross Collegiate Classic with tee times beginning at 8 A.M. Live stats will be available on golfstat.com
