Jessie Kweon Earns BIG EAST Honors

The Little Neck, N.Y., led the Red Storm to a Hartford Invitational title
QUEENS, N.Y. (April 13, 2022) – The league office announced St John's Jessie Kweon as the BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week on Wednesday morning. This is the first conference accolade for the senior this season.
Kweon helped St John's to a tournament title when the squad finished with a total of 594 to claim first place at the Hartford Invitational on April 3. The Little Neck, N.Y. native paced the Red Storm to a team title, placing first in individual competition with a 146 over the two rounds. Kweon shot a 75 in her opening round and clutched the victory with a 71 during the final day of competition
The senior continued to impress during the final regular season event of the season as the posted a top-20 performance at the Hoya Invitational. Kweon led the Johnnies once again, her sixth time this season, as she shot a 54-hole score of 234 (76-83-75).
Kweon and the Red Storm squad will be back in action at the BIG EAST Championship, taking place at the Mountain View Course in Pine Mountain, Ga. The three-day quest for a conference title will begin on April 21.
