St. John’s Ties for Third at Wildcat Invitational

Gage Wolfle finished in the top-10 at the two-day tournament
VILLANOVA, Pa. – The St. John's men's golf team closed out the Wildcat Invitational at Radnor Valley Country Club on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for third place.
Marquette claimed the team title, shooting 285 in the final round for a combined 566. The BIG EAST foe paced the field during both rounds of the tournament. LIU came in second place, carding a combined 582 for the event. The Red Storm posted a combined 300 for the final round, tying Rider with an overall mark of 585.
Gage Wolfle led the way for the Johnnies, shooting a 74 on the last day of competition and a 145 overall to tie for eighth place. Tyler Gerbavsits carded a 73 for the day to tie for 20th overall with a combined total of 147. Gerbavsits added three birdies during the final round to record eight for the tournament. The mark placed the Johnnie golfer in a tie for second in the field.
Peicheng Chen and Ryan Rittberger finished two strokes behind the senior at 149 overall and tied for 28th. Chen tallied a 74 in the final round, showing a one-stroke improvement from his first day total. Rounding out the team was Jack Simon, as the senior carded an 80 on the final day to close out the tournament with a combined total of 150 to tie for 35th place.
Up next, the Red Storm will head to Pine Mountain, Ga., for the BIG EAST Championships beginning on April 25th from the Callaway Resort and Gardens.
