Women’s Golf Ranked Fourth Overall Amongst WGCA All-Scholar Teams

Red Storm women’s golf impresses in the classroom
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The St. John's women's golf team received WGCA All-Scholar Team honors, with the Red Storm's team GPA of 3.875 ranking fourth in the nation.
The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf programs with the highest collective average team GPA, which includes all of the team's student-athletes for the 2021-22 season. The Johnnies were one of three teams from the BIG EAST to place in the top-25 and were the highest-ranking program from the league.
The women's golf team not only recorded the highest cumulative GPA amongst women's teams at St. John's this season, but the squad also topped all athletics programs in the classroom with the best GPA of all teams at St. John's in 2021-22.
Earlier this month, six St. John's golfers were named to the 2021-22 WGCA All-American Scholar Team. Cloe Clocchiatti, Andrea Sanchez, Amy Kim, Jessie Kweon, Karen Beglin and Angelica Kusnowo received the prestigious honor from the coaches' organization. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with golfers posting a minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and participating in at least 50 percent of their team's events.
