14 Red Storm Softball Players Named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

St. John’s ranked 18th among NCAA Division I programs with a 3.62 GPA
QUEENS, N.Y. (Aug. 2, 2022) – 14 St. John's softball student-athletes earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) for the 2021-22 academic year, the organization announced Monday.
Natalie Alheidt, Erin Brown, Natalie Casto, Peyton Cody, Anna Freveletti, London Jarrard, Kaitlyn Lologo, Amy Mallah, Hannah Mearns, Angela Saric, Anese Thompson, Kamryn Tiumalu, Carolyn Von Werne and Carolina Zamudio all garnered All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, after concluding the 2021-22 academic year with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
As a team, the Johnnies ranked 18th nationally among the 293 NCAA Division I softball programs, turning in a cumulative group GPA of 3.62.
Cody, Freveletti, Saric, Tiumalu and Lologo were tabbed All-America Scholar-Athletes for the third time in their St. John's careers. While Brown, Mallah and Von Werne have earned the distinction for the second-straight year.
The program has been no stranger to academic achievement this summer, as 17 Red Storm softball players were tabbed to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team on July 21.
