Pompey to Host Walk-On Tryouts on Sept. 21

Students interested in trying out must submit all forms by Friday, Sept. 9
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's Track & Field program will host a walk-on tryout on Sept. 21 at 11:30 a.m. at DaSilva Memorial Field.

Student-athletes interested in attending must first submit a completed copy of the Tryout Screening Form to Director Aliann Pompey (pompeya@stjohns.edu) or to Cross Country Head Coach Elliott Blount (blounte@stjohns.edu)Â by Friday, Sept. 9. Student-athletes must also submit the Medical Insurance Form, Medical History Form and Physical Form, along with proof of COVID-19 vaccination, sickle cell testing and medical insurance to Assistant Athletic Trainer Greg Tozzi (tozzig@stjohns.edu) by Friday, Sept. 9. Â

The Johnnies are coming off a strong outdoor campaign, finishing in the top four at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships for the seventh straight season and collecting nine medals, including five individual titles. Three sprinters and one relay team qualified to compete in the NCAA Regionals in Bloomington, Ind., marking the 30th consecutive season that at least one Red Storm track and field athlete has qualified for the regional championship.
