QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's dance team is slated to perform at the 97th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday morning. The Red Storm dance team is scheduled to perform towards the end of the parade just before Santa Claus makes his grand appearance at Macy's Herald Square, located on 34th Street and 7th Avenue.
"We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to dance in this special performance," Head Coach Christine McCarton said. "It has been an incredible experience for the team working with the choreographer, other dancers and Macy's. We cannot wait to dance tomorrow!"
The annual celebration is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m., as the parade will march down from the Upper West Side at West 77th Street through the heart of Manhattan to Macy's Herald Square. St. John's fans can watch the 97th installment of the parade nationally on NBC and CBS, and can stream the entire parade on Peacock from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday.
For nearly a century, the New York City extravaganza has been a staple during Thanksgiving Day festivities. The annual tradition will feature 25 novelty balloons, 31 floats and 18 star-studded performers. Santa Claus will wrap up the parade with his arrival at Macy's Herald Square to ring in the holiday season.
