Red Storm wraps up fall season with strong performance in Philadelphia
The St. John's men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season with an impressive performance at the Dragon Invitational this weekend in Philadelphia.
The Red Storm picked up 11 wins over two days of competition on Drexel's campus. Ryota Kaneda and Martin Bugaj teamed up for two victories on the doubles court. On Saturday, the duo took down Drexel's Alex De Sousa and Pierre Humayou before besting Monmouth's Gabriel Berner and Adam Hillerby on Sunday. Kaneda and Bugaj each picked up a win in singles play as well.
Armando Sotelo also had an impressive showing to close out the fall, picking up two wins over the weekend. After taking down Humayou in straight sets on Saturday, he bested Berner in a back-and-forth three-set affair.
Francisco Bascón and Carl Gustavsson paired for a win on the doubles court, while Danilo Raicevic, Adam Groves, Bascón and Gustavsson all picked up a win in singles play. The full results are below.
The event marked the final competition on the Johnnies' fall schedule. The spring season is set to begin in January.
