The St. John’s head coach will represent the Northeast Region
St. John's Men's Tennis Head Coach Dillon Pottish has been selected to the Division I Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Operating Committee as the representative for the Northeast Region.
"I want to thank David Mullins, COO of the ITA for selecting me to represent the Northeast Region to further grow and improve college tennis," said Pottish.
The committee provides the ITA's staff with guidance on important topics surrounding the sport including rule changes, rankings, championship schedules, format changes, NCAA legislative proposals and several other matters related to the operations of Division I tennis.
The ITA's Northeast Region is splitting into two regions beginning in 2024; the New England Region and the Northeast Region. Pottish will be the Northeast Region's representative while Harvard Men's Tennis Coach Andrew Rueb will oversee the New England Region on the committee.
Pottish's two-year term will start at the beginning of 2024 and run through June of 2026.
Since being named the program's head coach in August of 2018, Pottish has helped the Red Storm win two BIG EAST Championships and earn two NCAA Tournament appearances. Last year, St. John's went 20-6 overall en route to the program's seventh BIG EAST title. Pottish and his staff were named BIG EAST Co-Coaching Staff of the Year in 2023, the second time in his St. John's tenure he has earned the honor.
The Red Storm will begin its 2024 spring season in January.
