St. John’s Women’s Golf Prepares for Spring Break Shootout

Red Storm to compete in Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Florida
QUEENS, N.Y.— The St. John's women's golf team will return to the course on Monday to compete in the Spring Break Shootout at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
The Red Storm will compete in a 16-team field in the two-day, 54-hole event hosted by Western Kentucky and Florida Gulf Coast. The field includes conference foe Butler, FGCU, Western Kentucky, Troy, Toledo, Akron, Ball State, Arkansas State, Ohio, Oakland, Morehead State, Stetson, Seminole State, Loyola Chicago and Jacksonville State.
Competition from the par-71 course will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. on both days. Live results will be available on GolfStat.
The Johnnies line-up will feature- Jessie Kweon, Cloe Clocchiati, Karen Beglin, Jill Beglin and Amy Kim. Laia Barro will compete as an individual for the Red Storm.
In St. John's first event of the spring campaign the team finished tied for 13th place as a team at the Columbia Classic in Melbourne, Fla.
Karen Beglin paced the squad with a 49th place finish at the Duran Golf Club, shooting 11-over par. The sophomore carded a team-best 3-over in her final round. Kweon, a 2022 All-BIG EAST selection slid in just behind her placing 54th with a 13-over combined score.
Last year at this tournament, the Red Storm came in eighth out 15 teams. Clocchiati and Angelica Kusnowo finished a team-best tied for 13th in Dade City.
