St. John’s in Third Place After Opening Day at Kingsmill Intercollegiate

The second round was suspended due to darkness and will resume tomorrow
WILLIAMSBURG, Va.– The St. John's women's golf team sits near the top of the leaderboard in third place after the first day at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
The Red Storm are three shots off the lead at 25-over in the 19-team field, before play was halted due to darkness during the second round at the River Course on the Kingsmill Resort in Virginia.
The Johnnies were impressive on the par-5's, shooting a tournament-best 4.94 stroke average.
In the opening round, the trio of Laia Barro, Amy Kim and Jessie Kweon paced the squad all carding a 5-over, 77, and were deadlocked for 18th place after the first 18 holes.
Karen Beglin and Cloe Clocchiatti followed closely behind in rainy conditions on Monday. Beglin posted an initial round 8-over, 80, while Clocchiatti checked in just one stroke behind her teammate with a 9-over, 81.
Angelica Kusnowo, competing as an individual, turned in a 10-over, 82, in her opening round.
In the following round, St. John's surged up the leaderboard and now sits in third place before play was suspended due to darkness in Virginia.
The conclusion of the second and third rounds will take place tomorrow at the River Course. Live results are available here.
