St. John’s Finishes Sixth at Kingsmill Intercollegiate

Jessie Kweon shined in Virginia tying for second place
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The St. John's women's golf team concluded the Kingsmill Intercollegiate in sixth place out of 19 teams. The Red Storm tallied a cumulative score of 68-over in Williamsburg, Va.
Jessie Kweon starred for the Red Storm over the two-day event finishing tied for second out of 107 golfers at the River Course. The graduate student concluded her three rounds at 7-over par deadlocked with Georgetown's Meghan Gormley and Natalie Cao and Bridget O'Keefe of Penn. Sarah Kahn of High Point captured the individual title in commanding fashion finishing 3-under.
In her second round, Kweon carded the second lowest score of any player at the event, finishing with a 2-under, 70. The Little Neck, N.Y., native tallied three birdies and only bogeyed a single hole during her round. The 2022 All-BIG EAST selection posted a 4-over, 76, during her final 18 holes on Tuesday to earn her highest finish of the spring season.
Cloe Clocchiatti checked in next for the squad after a strong display on the course. The senior finished in 28th place after logging a total score of 19-over and tallied eight birdies throughout the tournament, the fourth most of any player.
Angelica Kusnowo tallied a pair of rounds shooting 5-over, 77, to finish inside the top-35 (34th) and third amongst individual competitors.
Laia Barro was the fourth and final Johnnie to finish in the top-40. The senior ended up in 39th after recording a score of 22-over across the three rounds at the Kingsmill Resort.
Karen Beglin (T-48th) and Amy Kim (79th) rounded the team scoring for St. John's.
Up next for the Johnnies is their own home tournament, the St. John's Invitational on Apr. 10-11. The Red Storm will welcome squads to Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings on Hudson, N.Y., for the 54-hole event.
