Men’s Lacrosse and Men’s Soccer Earn BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Awards

Men’s soccer secured a 3.62 GPA while men’s lacrosse posted a 3.46 mark during the 2022-23 academic year
QUEENS, N.Y. (Aug. 9, 2023) – The St. John's men's lacrosse and men's soccer teams have been captured BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence awards for their success in the classroom during the 2022-23 academic year, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Both programs have secured the league's top academic honors in their respective sports for the second-straight season. Men's lacrosse has also earned the accolade for the ninth time since the BIG EAST's inception of the sport in 2010, posting a 3.46 GPA. Men's soccer saw an increase in its GPA from a year ago, jumping from a 3.542 mark in 2021-22 to a 3.62 GPA in 2022-23.
The winners were chosen based on the 2022-23 grade-point average of each student-athlete who appeared on an institution's roster as of the last contest of the championship segment in each conference-sponsored sport.
