St. John’s Softball Announces 2023 Fall Schedule

Johnnies to play eight games starting September 16th
QUEENS, N.Y. – First-year Head Coach Michelle DePolo has announced the 2023 softball fall schedule.
The Red Storm will play eight games, split into four doubleheaders. All contests will be played at home in Queens.
Fall play will open when the Johnnies take on a pair of Division II opponents in a doubleheader on Sept. 16. First pitch against Caldwell will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a duel against Mercy College starting at 12:30 p.m.
A week later on Sept. 23, Iona and FDU will head to Queens to square off with the Johnnies in another doubleheader. The matchup with the Gaels is slated to start at 10 a.m. followed by a 12:30 p.m. contest against the Knights.
On Sept. 30, neighboring Queens College and Sacred Heart arrive to take on the squad. The games will follow the same format, as the matchup against the Knights is scheduled for 10 a.m. and the first pitch against the Pioneers at 12:30 p.m.
The fall season will conclude when DePolo's team faces off with Wagner at 10 a.m. and Stony Brook at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 7.
DePolo was announced as the 11th head coach in program history on Aug. 1 and brings her a wealth of experience to Queens. Most recently, she served as an assistant coach for Florida Gulf Coast and boasts head coaching experience at Tennessee Tech and Army. St. John's returns 18 players to a squad that tallied 23 wins in 2023, including a BIG EAST Tournament win over Butler.
