Tartamella and Smith will join coverage of New York Liberty’s Championship parade at 8:30 a.m.

NEW YORK– St. John's women's basketball Head Coach Joe Tartamella and Assistant Coach Shenneika Smithwill appear on Spectrum News NY1 on Thursday morning as part of the network's New York Liberty WNBA Championship Parade coverage.

The 13^th year head coach in Tartamella and former New York Liberty draftee in Smith will join longtime news anchor Pat Kiernan live in studio as the Liberty celebrate New York City's first professional basketball championship since 1973. The duo will go live on the cable network at 8:30 a.m.

The New York Liberty ticker-tape parade is slated to begin at 10 a.m. as the squad will begin at Battery Park and proceed through the "Canyon of Heroes" on Broadway before arriving at City Hall for a formal ceremony. The Liberty captured the title on Sunday after winning a decisive Game 5 over the Minnesota Lynx, 67-62.
