Women’s Basketball Attends BIG EAST Media Day at Madison Square Garden

Head Coach Joe Tartamella, Ber’Nyah Mayo, Jailah Donald and Lashae Dwyer met with the media this afternoon in Manhattan
NEW YORK– The St. John's women's basketball program attended BIG EAST Women's Basketball Media Day on Wednesday afternoon at Madison Square Garden.
Head Coach Joe Tartamella and three veteran players- Jailah Donald, Lashae Dwyer and Ber'Nyah Mayo represented the program on Wednesday meeting with local and national media ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, which is less than two weeks away.
Mayo began the day with a visit to the NASDAQ Market Site in Times Square along with players from all 11 BIG EAST schools. The group got the opportunity to attend the opening bell ceremony at the stock exchange and participated in a private tour and media interviews.
The BIG EAST Preseason Team and Coaches' Poll were released this morning. Mayo earned herself a spot on the preseason team and the Red Storm were picked to finish fourth, its highest preseason prediction since 2020.
St. John's will kick-off its 50th anniversary season on Nov. 4 when it welcomes Saint Peter's for a 2 p.m. contest at Carnesecca Arena.
