NCAA released data for 2014-15 to 2017-18 freshman cohort on Wednesday
QUEENS, N.Y. – The NCAA released its annual data on Graduation Success Rate (GSR) on Wednesday and the Red Storm was well represented among the nation's best in terms of academic accomplishment.
Six Red Storm teams (men's fencing, softball, women's fencing, women's golf, women's tennis and women's volleyball) posted perfect GSRs. Four additional teams (men's tennis, women's basketball, women's cross country/track & field and women's soccer) checked in above the 90 percent mark.
Of the 15 Red Storm athletic programs accounted for in the GSR release, 14 finished above the federal graduation rate for their respective sports. Cross Country, Indoor Track & Field and Outdoor Track & Field are treated as one sport for GSR purposes.
The Graduation Success Rate measures six-year graduation rates at NCAA member institutions. The cohorts examined in the release encompass student-athletes who entered St. John's as freshmen between the fall semesters of 2014 and 2017.
