St. John’s Finishes 10th at Gulf Coast Collegiate

Peicheng Chen recorded team-high 16th place finish
NEW ORLEANS– The St. John's men's golf team finished out the Gulf Coast Collegiate Classic in 10th place out of 16 teams.
The Red Storm shot 71-over, 935, to close the 54-hole tournament at English Turn Golf Club in New Orleans.
Memphis took home the team title with a cumulative score of 16-over, 880. The Tigers' Diego Lourenco took home the individual title shooting even par, 216.
Peicheng Chen recorded a team-best 16th place finish carding an 11-over, 227. The junior had the best round of the event for the Johnnies firing an even par 72 in yesterday's second round.
Individual competitor Jack Breutsch tallied a 38th place finish after accumulating a score of 17-over, 233. The freshman had his best round of the tournament on Tuesday firing a 3-over, 75.
Thomas Finn and Ryan Rittberger were the other two Johnnies to finish top-50 after logging a 20-over, 236. Rittberger jumped up 14 spots on the leaderboard after registering a 3-over, 73 in the Big Easy. Finn led the entire field with 35 pars over 54 holes.
The Red Storm will be back in action on March 11-12 when it competes in the Ross Intercollegiate in Southern Pines, N.C.
