St. John’s Sits in Fifth at Ross Intercollegiate

Peicheng Chen and Erik Stevens log under par rounds at Mid Pines
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.–The St. John's men's golf team sits in fifth place after the first two rounds of the Ross Intercollegiate.
The Red Storm recorded a 9-over, 585 to sit inside the top-5 out of 16 teams at Mid Pines Club in North Carolina. In the second round of the day, the Johnnies logged a 1-over, 289 to slide up the leaderboard.
Peicheng Chen and Erik Stevens both fired rounds under par on Monday. Chen registered a team-best 3-under, 69 in the second round. The junior standout ended opening day tied for 22nd place sitting at 2-over, 146 and rose 37 spots during the latter round. Stevens fired off his best round as a St. John's golfer carding a 1-under, 71 in the first round. The Monmouth transfer closed out the day at 3-over, 147 and scored par or better on 29 of his 36 holes.
David Mlynek was also strong in Southern Pines, N.C. The sophomore finished with back-to-back rounds of 1-over, 73 to tie with Chen for a team-best 22nd place.
Ryan Rittberger and Thomas Finn both checked in inside the top-50 tying for 49th place after shooting 6-over, 150 after the first two rounds.
The final round will tee off tomorrow morning and live results will be available on GolfStat.
