St. John’s Closes Out Ross Intercollegiate

Red Storm finish tied for eighth place
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. –The St. John's men's golf team closed out the Ross Intercollegiate at Mid Pines Club in North Carolina on Tuesday.
As a team, the Red Storm carded a 17-over, 881 over the three rounds to tie with the hosts George Mason for an eighth place finish.
The Johnnies recorded a birdie or better on 14 holes as a squad during Tuesday's final round, highlighted by two early round eagles from Peicheng Chen and David Mlynek.
The Red Storm boasted the second best stroke average amongst the 16-team field at 3.15 on par-3's and a 4.75 stroke average on par-5's.
Chen paced the squad and shot his second consecutive round under par on Tuesday firing a 1-under, 71. The standout tallied a team-best finish tying for 16th place after recording a three-round score of 1-over, 217.
Mlynek checked in next logging a season-high 29th place finish in Southern Pines, N.C. The Prague, Czech Republic native closed out the event with a 4-over, 220 and logged his eagle on his first hole of the day.
Thomas Finn shot his best round of the tournament registering a 2-over, 74. The freshman wrapped up the tournament at 8-over, 224 tied for 47th place.
St. John's will be back in action at the Southern Invitational on April 1-2 in Palm Beach, Fla.
