Red Storm sit in sixth place

BEAUFORT, S.C.– The St. John's women's golf team completed the opening round at the BIG EAST Championships at the Callawassie Island Golf Club.

The Red Storm carded a 30-pver, 318, in the first round in Beaufort, S.C. on Saturday morning to take sixth place. Four-time reigning champions Xavier lead the field with a 4-over heading into the clubhouse.

Sophomore Kelly Wu leads the Johnnies sitting tied for 14^th place after shooting a 5-over, 77 in the Palmetto State. The Western Illinois birdied the 11^th hole.

Cloe Clocchiatti and Xuan Khue Minh Doan tallied solid rounds both recording a 7-over, 79. The pair is tied for 20^th place on the leaderboard.

Angelica Kusnowo finished with a team-high two birdies on the second and 14^th holes.

The Red Storm will be back at it for the second round of the BIG EAST Championship on Sunday morning. Live results will be available on GolfStat and will be streamed on GKLiveTV.
