St. John’s to Take on BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships

Red Storm will compete in conference tournament from Saturday-Monday
BEAUFORT, S.C.- The St. John's women's golf team will prepare for the 2024 BIG EAST Championships presented by JEEP on April 20-22.
Following a five-year absence, the conference tournament will return to the Calawassie Island Golf Club in Beaufort, S.C. Six BIG EAST schools- Butler, Creighton, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Xavier will compete alongside St. John's for a conference crown and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The individual champion will also automatically qualify for NCAA Regionals.
The three-day tournament will be streamed live for free on GKLive.TV. Live results will also be available on GolfStat.
The Red Storm line-up will feature- Xuan Khue Minh Doan, Kelly Wu, Cloe Clocchiatti, Angelica Kusnowo and Karen Beglin.
St. John's enters the league tournament having played nine events during the regular season. Minh Doan has logged a team-best finish in every single event this season and produced five top-15 team finishes during her sophomore campaign. Last time out, the Red Storm tied with Seton Hall at the Battle of the Bridges in a stoke play competition and before the placed sixth at the Rutgers Invitational on April 6-7.
The Johnnies have taken fourth place in three out of the last four BIG EAST Championships, including last season at Riverton Pointe Golf Club. Jessie Kweon for the fourth and final time of her career recorded a seventh place finish to pace the squad. Clocchiatti logged a top-10 finish in Hardeeville, S.C., last year. St. John's has captured one BIG EAST title under Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo in 2005.
The teams will tee off at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning and will complete 18 holes each day.
