The Red Storm will take on Marquette on Sunday
QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's tennis team fell to DePaul on Saturday, 4-0 at the USTA National Tennis Center
The Blue Demons won the team doubles point and were triumphant in the first three singles decisions to clinch the victory.
In doubles action, Noemi Babikova and Alicia Gomez held a 5-4 lead over Emily Casati and Yuliya Kizelbasheva before the match was ultimately deemed unfinished.
In singles play, Mouna Bouzgarrou won the first set on the No. 1 court against Hannah Smith, 7-6. Babikova also took the first set against Kizelbasheva, 7-5. Both matches were declared unfinished in the second set.
The Red Storm fall to 5-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play with the loss. DePaul improves to 14-6 with the victory.
St. John's will return to action on Sunday to face Marquette. First serve from the St. John's Outdoor Courts is set for 1 p.m.
