Red Storm tally sixth place finish
PISCATAWAY, N.J.– The St. John's women's golf team concluded the Rutgers Invitational on Sunday with a sixth-place finish.
The squad carded a final team score of 73-over, 925, during the three-round 54-hole event at Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J.
The Red Storm recorded shot better in each of its rounds over the weekend and logged a tournament-low 20-over, 304, during Sunday's third and final round. Four Red Storm players finished inside the top-30.
For the eighth time in as many tournaments, Xuan Khue Minh Doan paced the Johnnies with a team-best finish. The sophomore registered a 2-over, 73, in the third round and a 16-over, 229 for the tournament to take 16th place. Over the latter two rounds, the Wofford transfer shot just 3-over and tallied six birdies.
Kelly Wu checked in next for St. John's tying for 25th place on the leaderboard with a total score of 20-over, 233. The sophomore went 6-over, 77, and recorded the team's lone eagle on the par-5 4th hole during the final round.
Cloe Clocchiatti and Angelica Kusnowo tied for 30th place amongst the field after logging a 22-over, 235 for the tournament. Clocchiatti shot a 6-over, 77 during the third round.
St. John's will be back in action to take on Seton Hall on April 13 at Saint Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. Tee time is set for 2 p.m.
