St. John’s Student-Athletes Thrive in the Classroom During Fall Semester

Red Storm student-athletes recorded a combined 3.55 cumulative GPA
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's student-athletes thrived in the classroom during the fall semester recording a cumulative GPA of 3.55, across all 17 varsity programs.
All 17 athletic programs tallied a GPA of over 3.0 with 11 squads recording a 3.5 or better during the fall term. The women's golf program held the highest mark with a 3.90, the program has held a long-standing tradition of excellence in the classroom checking in Top-25 nationally in the WGCA All-Scholar Team Rankings. On the men's side, the fencing program held the best GPA of 3.69.
Both the men's and women's basketball programs achieved their highest marks in several semesters in the classroom. The women's squad recorded a 3.34 mark, its highest team average since spring 2020. The nationally-ranked men's program logged a 3.26, its best since the fall term in 2023.
The St. John's volleyball program, which advanced to the National Invitation Volleyball Championship (NIVC) Fab Four, achieved a mark of 3.82, the highest in a single-term in at least 20 years.
87 percent of student-athletes registered a 3.0 or higher, while 64.8 percent of Johnnies' were above a 3.5. 53 individuals notched a perfect 4.0 GPA displaying excellence in the classroom. 11 student-athletes earned their degrees from St. John's in December.
Aside from the work in the classroom and on the field of competition, the Red Storm athletic programs were active in their community completing 1,764 service hours during the fall term. Track & field and men's lacrosse totaled the most community service hours over the last few months.
