St. John’s Concludes Regular Season at BIG EAST Cross Country Championship

The Red Storm placed 11th at this year’s conference meet
ASHLAND, Neb. (Oct. 31, 2025) – The St. John's cross country team wrapped up its season at the 2025 BIG EAST Cross Country Championship presented by JEEP on Friday afternoon. The team finished 11th overall and scored 340 points at the Olsson Cross Country Course in Ashland, Neb.
The Red Storm had six competitors in the field and were led by Naiara Garcia, who finished in 71st place with a time of 22:56.03 in the 6k race. The Spanish native closed the final kilometer in a time of 3:39.29 to dip under 23 minutes once again at the championship distance.
Not to be outdone, Attoya Harvey finished with a personal-best in the 6k with a time of 23:30.62. This marks the third time in four races that the Guyana native has set a personal record this season, regardless of distance.
Brenin Mahon also set a lifetime best with a time of 24:38.22, her first time dipping under 25 minutes. The Long Island product has also set personal bests in her last three consecutive races.
Ana Dobsa, Cristina Stanescu and Mia Torres closed out the meet for the Johnnies, finishing in succession.
Should any Red Storm runners qualify, the next competition on the docket is the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Nov. 14 in Hopkinton, N.H., hosted by Boston College. The top two teams and the top four individual finishers not on qualifying teams will advance to the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 22 at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.
