Softball Unveils 2026 Schedule

Reigning BIG EAST Regular Season Champions will play 55-game schedule, beginning on Feb. 6
QUEENS, N.Y. — Head Coach Michelle DePolo unveiled the 2026 St. John's Softball schedule on Friday, as the Red Storm will look to defend its BIG EAST Regular Season Championship.
St. John's will play a 55-game regular season schedule, starting on the road for the first 20 contests in February through early March. The Johnnies will host their first game at Red Storm Field on March 4 and play 19 contests in Queens during the 2026 campaign.
All game times and dates are subject to change. Admission to all home games at Red Storm Field is free. Broadcast information and the promotional calendar will be released at a later date.
DePolo enters her third season at the helm of the St. John's softball program after leading the Red Storm to a program-record 39 victories and the Johnnies' first BIG EAST regular-season title since 2019 last season. Following the historic campaign, DePolo and Assistant Coaches Marissa Rizzi and Sean Crowell earned BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
The 2026 squad will feature returning All-BIG EAST First Team selections Loreley Francia and Ana Serafinko along with All-BIG EAST Second Team honorees Jess Bianco and Madison Konopka. The Red Storm bring back a veteran core of 14 returners from last season's roster while welcoming eight newcomers.
The season will open at the Charleston Invitational on Feb. 6, as the Johnnies will take on Siena before facing Charleston Southern later that day. St. John's owns a 4-0 all-time record against Siena and a 5-2 mark against Charleston Southern.
The Red Storm will then travel to Mount Pleasant, S.C. to face Central Michigan, College of Charleston and George Mason to close the opening weekend from Feb. 7-8. St. John's has faced Central Michigan just once in program history, a 3-2 defeat in 2019, while the matchup with College of Charleston will mark the teams' first meeting since 2009, when the Johnnies secured a 4-1 victory. The meeting with George Mason will be the programs' first in over two decades, as St. John's last defeated the Patriots, 1-0, on Feb. 17, 2001.
A week later, the Red Storm will travel to Leesburg, Fla., to compete in The Spring Games from Feb. 13-15. St. John's will open the tournament against Alabama State before taking on LIU later that day on Feb 13. On Valentine's Day, Johnnies will then face Southern Mississippi and Bethune-Cookman. The weekend will conclude with a second matchup against Southern Mississippi the following day.
The following week, the Johnnies will travel to DeLand, Fla., for the Stetson Invitational from Feb. 20-22. St. John's will face Columbia twice during that weekend in addition to a pair of matchups with host Stetson.
St. John's will compete in the Battle at the Max in Greenville, N.C., from Feb. 27-March 1. The Johnnies will face Campbell and East Carolina twice, before squaring off with Rider for the first time since 2009 on March. 1.
St. John's will return to Queens to open the home schedule against Wagner on March 4. The Red Storm will begin its BIG EAST title defense when it hosts UConn at Red Storm Field for a three-game set on March 6-8. Last season, the Johnnies won the decisive game in extra innings, 6-5, in Storrs to capture the program's fourth regular season crown.
The homestand will continue against Iona on March 12, and Army and Harvard on March 14 before St. John's travels to the Bronx to face Fordham on March 18. The Johnnies will hit the road for the first time in BIG EAST play the following weekend with a three-game series at Georgetown from March 20-22.
The Red Storm will return home to face Butler on from March 27-29 before heading to the Midwest to face DePaul in Chicago from April 2-4. St. John's will pay a visit to Providence from April 10-12.
St. John's will welcome Manhattan to Queens on April 15, before hosting Creighton from April 17-19. The Johnnies will close their non-conference slate with a trip to Stony Brook on April 21.
St. John's will return home for its final contests in Queens when it hosts local conference foe Seton Hall on April 24-26. The regular season will conclude with a three-game BIG EAST series at Villanova from May 1-3.
