Xuan Khue Minh Doan Finishes Runner-up at Spring Break Shootout

Red Storm finish ninth as a team on Tuesday
DADE CITY, Fla.– St. John's women's golfer Xuan Khue Minh Doan recorded a runner-up finish for the second straight tournament at the Spring Break Shootout on Tuesday.
The junior shot even par or better in all three rounds at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla., to take second in the 75-golfer field. The Hanoi, Vietnam native finished the tournament at 2-under, 211, including a final round 1-under, 70, on Tuesday. Minh Doan finished two strokes behind individual champion Emma Bunch of New Mexico State, who shot an event-low 5-under, 66, in the third round to concluded the tournament at 4-under, 207. The All-BIG EAST selection recorded 12 birdies across the event.
As a team, the Red Storm carded a 55-over, 907, over 54 holes in the Sunshine State to claim in the ninth place in the 13-team field. The Johnnies registered a 25-over, 315, in the third round
Amy Kim slid in next on the leaderboard for the Johnnies tallying a 27th place finish shooting a 14-over, 227. In Tuesday's final round, the graduate student carded a 5-over, 76.
After three straight tournaments in Florida, the Johnnies will return to the Northeast for the Rutgers Invitational on April 5-6.
