CORONA, N.Y. – St. John's alumna and former standout jumper Amanda Belgrave was honored at a University luncheon celebrating Women's History Month on Saturday.
Members of the St. John's University community gathered on Saturday afternoon at Terrace on the Park in Corona, N.Y. to celebrate Women's History Month and the remarkable achievements these women have made to the university and beyond.
A four-year track & field standout, Belgrave, '22 MBA, was presented with the Women's Achiever Recipient award. Last year, women's basketball Assistant Coach Shenneika Smith was awarded with the same honor.
Longtime St. John's Volleyball Head Coach Joanne Persico served as the events Mistress of Ceremonies welcoming the honorees and their families.
Belgrave addressed the event's attendees discussing her experiences at St. John's as a student-athlete and how it translated to her career after graduating in 2022.
The former jumper made numerous impacts on the Red Storm women's track & field program throughout her four seasons in Queens. The Farmingdale, N.Y., native tallied five career wins in the long jump and the triple jump and registered a top-five finish of 11.52 meters in the triple jump at the 2021 Outdoor BIG EAST Track & Field Championships. Across her illustrious career in Queens, Belgrave notched career-best leaps of 11.72 meters in the triple jump at the 2022 outdoor conference championships and 5.54 meters in the long jump at the 2022 Villanova Invitational.
In addition to being an avid supporter of the St. John's track & field program after graduating with her master's in business administration in 2022, Belgrave's career in business skyrocketed, taking a Senior Financial Analyst Position at Lloyd's North America. In February, the former Johnnie was promoted to the role of Assistant Vice President.
