St. John’s to Host the Tom Farrell Classic on Senior Day

The program will recognize the 16 members of the graduating class
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's track and field team is set to host the Tom Farrell Class on Saturday, its second home meet of the outdoor season. Action is set to start at 11 a.m. with the Senior Day ceremony during the meet.
The program will recognize the 16-member senior class— Jamora Alves, Blessing Assoumany, Delicia Bent, Martina De Buglio, Nora Haugen, Linn Hertz Saebbo, Jalen Jackson, Cassandra Lemus-Sodji, Brenin Mahon, Chinenye Josephine Onourah, Desiree Pagan,Leilani Robinson, Ashley Sadler, Cristina Stanescu, Fia Viklund and Ezgi Yasar, with a ceremony at 12 p.m.
On Tuesday, Alves was named the BIG EAST Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season following her impressive performances at the 130th Penn Relays. This marks the sixth weekly honor roll appearance during Alves' time as a Johnnie.
She most recently was named back-to-back field athlete of the week earlier in the month of April. St. John's has appeared in every weekly honor roll during the month, extending the streak to four straight weeks.
The Red Storm are well represented across all events, with nine participants in the 100-meter dash led by Lemus-Sodji. In the 200-meter dash, it's Jackson who has the fastest time for the Johnnies.
Robinson headlines the 800-meter run contingent, as Yasar, Mahon and Stanescu are joined by Mia Sara Torres in the 1,500-meter run.
In the field events, Alves is slated to compete in the shot put along with Juliet Smith and Maja Henry.
On the runway, Jade Dockery will compete in the long jump and Viklund will represent the Johnnies in the triple jump. Sadler and Ruth Smith are set to make appearances at the high jump.
St. John's is slated to have a relay in the 4x100-meter relay and four teams in the 4x400-meter relay.
Following Saturday's competition, the Red Storm will prepare for the 2026 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship, presented by Jeep, from May 14-16.
