St. John’s to Excels at Tom Farrell Classic on Senior Day

The program recognized the 16 members of the graduating class
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's track and field team hosted the Tom Farrell Class on Saturday, its second home meet of the outdoor season. Red Storm picked up nine event wins, 18 top-five finishes and three meet records.
During the meet, the program recognized the 16-member senior class— Jamora Alves, Blessing Assoumany, Delicia Bent, Martina De Buglio, Nora Haugen, Linn Hertz Saebbo, Jalen Jackson, Cassandra Lemus-Sodji, Brenin Mahon, Chinenye Josephine Onourah, Desiree Pagan, Leilani Robinson, Ashley Sadler, Cristina Stanescu, Fia Viklund and Ezgi Yasar, with a ceremony.
Both the 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relays placed first, with the 4x100-meter quartet of Lemus-Sodji, Kettia Ambrose, Ryana Dennis and Nia-Ruby Forbes-Agyepong setting the Tom Farrell Classic meet record and a season-best time of 46.46 seconds.
Dennis set her second meet record of the afternoon in the 100 meters with a personal-best time of 11.78 seconds. Ambrose and Lemus-Sodji rounded out the top three, with Ambrose running a personal-best 11.84. Dennis secured her third victory of the meet by winning the 200-meter dash, as the Red Storm went 1-2-3.
In the 400-meter dash, the Johnnies claimed the top four spots. Onourah finished first with a meet-record time of 53.69 seconds. She was followed by Nyla Henderson, Jackson and Assoumany.
Stepping up to the 800-meter run, Attoya Harvey and Robinson battled over the course of the two-lap race. Harvey ultimately edged out her senior teammate with a personal-best time of 2 minutes, 10.94 seconds.
In the field events, St. John's took all three disciplines in runaway fashion. Jade Dockery leapt to first place in the long jump with a season-best mark of 5.31m (17 feet, 5 inches). Viklund continued her dominant season by winning the triple jump. The senior used an 11.75m (38 feet, 6.50 inches) attempt to outlast the field.
In the ring, Juliet Smith and Maja Henry took first and second in the shot put. Smith used a 12.42m (40 feet, 9 inches) throw to win the event, followed by Henry's 12.12m (39 feet, 9.25 inches) season-best.
The Red Storm will now prepare for the 2026 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship, presented by Jeep. Action from the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex in Storrs, Conn., is set for May 14-16.
