St. John’s Crowned Northern Kentucky Spring Fling Champions

Red Storm shoot 41-over to capture team title in Florida
VERO BEACH, Fla. – The St. John's women's golf team was crowned Northern Kentucky Spring Fling Champions on Sunday afternoon after finishing atop the eight team field.
The Red Storm shot 41-over, 617, over the 36-hole tournament and Sandridge Golf Club Dunes Course in Vero Beach, Fla. Four Red Storm golfers finished inside the top-20 to guide the Johnnies to their first team tournament title since April 3, 2022 and the 26thunder Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo.
The Red Storm battled through windy conditions and fended off a final round surge from Seton Hall, as it shot a tournament-best 9-over, 297, on Sunday but St. John's held on to claim medalist honors.
Xuan Khue Minh Doan recorded a runner-up finish individually shooting a 7-over, 151, including a 3-over, 75, in the final round to pace the Red Storm to the team title.
Kelly Wu made a final round surge in the Sunshine State carding a 2-over, 74, to shoot up to fifth place. The junior finished the event at 11-over, 255, for her first top-five finish this season. Amy Kim had the round of the day for the Johnnies shooting a team-low 1-over, 73, to provide a major boost over the final 18 holes. Kim finished in 11th place with a 13-over, 257.
Lily Huynh was the fourth and final Johnnie to record a top-20 finish registering a 17-over, 261, over 36 holes.
The Johnnies will be back in action on March 17-18 when they take part in the Spring Break Shootout in Dade City, Fla.
