St. John’s Finishes Off Competition at Day One of the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships

STORRS, Conn. – The St. John's track & field team finished off day one of competition at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships presented by JEEP at the Sherman Family Sports Complex in Storrs, Conn.
The team currently sits in seventh place after earning three points in the hammer throw. UConn leads the pack with 27 total points.
In the Red Storm's sole event of the day, the hammer throw, the squad tallied three points. Desiree Pagan posted a heave of 47.81 meters for two tallies and seventh place, while Martina De Buglio finished right behind her in eighth, registering a season-best toss of 45.37 meters for a point.
The Red Storm will remain in action at the BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships presented by JEEP tomorrow. Day two of the league championships is set to kick off at 12 p.m. on FloTrack with the men's decathlon 110-meter hurdles.
