Senior Ezgi Yasar and company will look to start the season strong with a short trip to the Bronx, racing in the Iona Meet of Champions on Sept. 12. Hosted at Van Cortlandt Park, Yasar ran the 5k race in 20:30 last season, guiding St. John's to a fifth-place team finish.

squad looks to build off the 29th place finish from a year ago.
The Johnnies then turn their attention to the 2025 Metropolitan Cross-Country Championships hosted by NJIT on Oct. 11 in Branch Brook Park, N.J. After winning the meet in 2023 and posting a third-place finish in 2024, St. John's travel to the Garden State to continue their recent success at the meet.
For their championship tune-up, the Red Storm will return to the Bronx and Van Cortlandt Park to compete in the ECAC Cross-Country Championship.
The 2025 BIG EAST Cross-Country Championship will be hosted by Creighton on Oct. 31. The race is set to be held at the Olsson CC Course in Ashland, Neb. Last season, Yasar finished first as the top runner for St. John's in the 6k stopping the clock in 23:03.
Postseason racing kicks off on Nov. 14 in Hopkinton, N.H., as Boston College hosts the 2025 NCAA Northeast XC Regional Championship for teams and individuals that qualify. The top two teams from the regional will go on to compete in the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 22. In addition to the two teams, the top four individuals not already on a qualifying team will fill the rest of the field at the Gans Creek CC Course in Columbia, MO.
Blount enters his fifth season at the helm of the cross-country program and has continued to build a strong foundation with a young core. During his tenure, the team has logged six top three finishes, including a Metropolitan Championship title during his time with the Red Storm.
