The senior will compete in the men's singles draw in Rome, Ga., from Nov. 5-8
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's men's tennis standout Semen Agynskyy has been selected to represent the BIG EAST in the men's singles competition at the 2026 ITA Conference Masters Championship, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The prestigious national event will take place Nov. 5-8 in Rome, Ga., bringing together top collegiate players from across the country. Agynskyy will compete in a 32-player singles draw, with the four semifinalists earning automatic qualification to the NCAA Singles Championship.
Agynskyy enters the tournament following an impressive first season in Queens, where he earned unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team honors and was named the 2026 BIG EAST Championship Most Outstanding Player. The Dnipro, Ukraine, native helped guide the Red Storm to its second consecutive conference title and eighth in program history.
The senior compiled a 16-2 singles record during the 2025-26 campaign, including a perfect 7-0 mark against BIG EAST opponents while competing primarily at the No. 3 position. Agynskyy also excelled in doubles action, posting an 18-4 record alongside Adam Groves and earning BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week recognition three times.
Agynskyy has carried that momentum into the fall season, most recently posting a perfect 3-0 singles record at the Saint Joseph's Invitational earlier this month.
The Ukrainian was selected as the BIG EAST's men's singles representative through a conference-wide nomination and voting process involving the league's head coaches. He will be joined by Creighton's Timothée Lustig and Neil Saxer, who will represent the conference in the men's doubles competition.
