Defending BIG EAST Champion St. John’s Announces 2026 Fall Slate

The Johnnies will compete in five events during the fall season
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis program has announced the 2026 fall schedule, which features five events from late September through early November.
The Johnnies enter the 2026-27 campaign following another championship season in Queens. St. John's finished 19-7 overall and boasted an unblemished 5-0 record in BIG EAST play before capturing its second consecutive conference tournament crown and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The Red Storm rolled through the conference championship, defeating Villanova and Georgetown by identical 4-0 scores before taking down DePaul, 4-1, in the title match.
St. John's will bring back eight returners from last year's championship squad, highlighted by reigning BIG EAST Player of the Year Radomir Tomic. Tomic was a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team alongside teammate Semen Agynskyy, who also earned unanimous first-team honors. Agynskyy was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2026 BIG EAST Championship for his efforts in the Johnnies title run.
Four newcomers will join the Red Storm this fall, including freshmen Maksym Kalabishka, Marc Puig Mont and Enrique Lana Almeida. Marek Nano arrived in Queens after transferring from Eastern Kentucky, where he was named the ASUN Freshman of the Year.
St. John's will begin its fall campaign on Long Island at the Hofstra Invitational from Sept. 25-27. The Johnnies return to Hofstra after opening their 2025 fall slate in Hempstead.
The Red Storm will remain in the area the following weekend, competing at the Saint Joseph's Invitational from Oct. 2-4 in Philadelphia.
The Johnnies will then travel to Philadelphia for the ITA Northeast Regionals, hosted by Penn, beginning on Oct. 15. Last season, Armando Sotelo went 3-1 in singles, making it to the round of 32 while two doubles teams made it to the round of 16.
The fall slate will conclude with a pair of events in early November. Qualified members of the Red Storm will compete at the ITA Conference Masters from Nov. 5-8 in Rome, Ga., while the remainder of the squad will head to Drexel for the Dragon Invitational from Nov. 6-8.
