Five Red Storm golfers finished inside the top-15
VERO BEACH, Fla.- The St. John's women's golf team finished runner-up at the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling on Sunday.
The Red Storm concluded the three-day 54-hole event with a 57-over, 921, to take second place at Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach. The Johnnies carded an 18-over, 306, in Sunday's third round.
St. John's finished 10 strokes behind the tournament champions Bucknell, who registered a 47-over, 911, at the event.
The Johnnies had five golfers finish inside the top-15 of the 64-golfer. Sophomore Pihla Pennanen and senior Kelly Wu paced the Red Storm tying for a team-best eighth place finish shooting a 14-over, 230. Cathilyn Lee and Laura Mizlerova were knotted at 12th overall recording an 18-over, 234. Lily Huynh tallied a 14th place finish logging a 19-over, 235, over 54 holes.
The Red Storm will be back in action for its home event the St. John's Invitational at Saint Andrew's Golf Club on April 6-7.
