GREENVILLE, N.C.- The St. John's men's golf team is tied for third place after the second round at the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley Country Club.
The Red Storm shot a 13-over, 589, through 36 holes in Greenville to sit knotted with UCF with 18 holes to play. The Johnnies opened the tournament wit a 5-over, 293, and carded an 8-over, 296, on Monday. The Red Storm boast two players in the top-10 of the 85-golfer field.
Matthew DiFiore paces the squad sitting in fourth place after the first two rounds at Brook Valley. The freshman holds an even par, 144, through 36 holes after a 1-under, 71, in round one and a 1-over, 73, on Monday.
Joseph Dolezal is the second Red Storm golfer to be inside the top-10 heading into Tuesday's final round sitting tied for eighth place. The sophomore logged an opening round 1-under, 71, and a second score of 2-over, 73, to hold a 1-over, 144, with 18 holes of action remaining. The Old Westbury, N.Y., native has flushed seven birdie putts through the first 36 holes, which ranks sixth-best among the field.
Max McColgan has registered a cumulative 4-over, 147, in North Carolina. The rookie climbed the leaderboard on Monday, shooting a 1-over, 73. David Mlynek (+12) and Eli Weidmann (+11) round out the Red Storm line-up.
The final round will begin for St. John's at 9:30 a.m. in the Tar Heel State. Live results will be available on SCOREBOARD.
