Huggard tallied a season-high five goals on Saturday against Brown

NEW YORK – The St. John's lacrosse team has earned their fifth BIG EAST Weekly Award in six weeks after Chase Huggard was named to the Honor roll, announced by the conference on Monday.

The freshman paced the Johnnie offense for a season-high five goals on Saturday against Brown along with 9 shots with six on target and two groundballs.

After his performance against the Bears, the Voorhees, N.J. native has tallied 11 goals and three assists for 14 points in his debut campaign. Huggard has now collected three multi-goal games, with the other coming against Delaware (Feb 14) with two and at Quinnipiac (Feb. 17) with four.

This honor also marks the second weekly honor of his career after previously earning BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors on Feb. 19.

St. John's returns to action on Saturday to open BIG EAST play against Villanova in Queens. Face-off from Cox Family Field at Belson Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
