The senior outfielder receives conference recognition following her historic weekend
NEW YORK — St. John's softball's Elanna Lysiak was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after putting up dominant offensive numbers in the Red Storm's 1-1 weekend against UConn, the conference announced Monday.
In two appearances, Lysiak batted .571 with three runs, a grand slam and seven RBIs. Lysiak's seven RBIs set a new single-game program record, breaking the previous record of six posted by Christina Melendez on March 15, 2019 and Loren Anguiano on April 27, 2007.
The grand slam, which helped erase the Red Storm's 7-1 deficit in its 11-10 comeback win over UConn on Sunday, was the first by a St. John's player since Melanie Santos' against UConn on May 4, 2025.
The honor roll placement marks Lysiak's second career BIG EAST Weekly Awards appearance and first since March 24, 2025, when the Wheatfield, N.Y., native batted .538 with three runs scored, two doubles and four RBIs across four contests.
Lysiak and the Johnnies return to action at Red Storm Field on March 12 when they take on Iona at 2 p.m.
