Chase Huggard Earns BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Honors

The standout freshman tallied four goals and one assist against Providence
NEW YORK – Following a five-point performance in the regular season finale against Providence, Chase Huggard was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The honor marks Huggard's second freshman of the week selection and third weekly award of the season. Against the Friars, the Voorhees, N.J., native recorded four goals and one assist for five points, registering six shots with four on target.
On the season, Huggard has posted four multi-goal performances and owns the second-highest single-game goal total on the team, falling just one shy of his five-goal outing against Brown earlier this year.
In his debut campaign, the surging freshman ranks second on the team in total points with 25 on 17 goals and eight assists. He also sits second on the squad with three man-up goals, trailing only Noah Plenn and Jake Wright, who each have four.
After earning Rookie of the Week honors, Huggard will look to carry that momentum into the offseason and build toward his sophomore campaign in 2027.
