St. John’s Heads to Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

The Johnnies will attend The Masters practice round on Monday at Augusta National Golf Club
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's men's golf team will compete in one of the nation's most prestigious college golf tournaments over the weekend, when it takes part in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational.
The Red Storm will play three rounds at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., over the weekend. On Monday, all the participants will attend the practice round at The Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.
St. John's will compete in a 16-team field against- LSU, Oklahoma State, Northwestern, Georgia Southern, Notre Dame, Illinois, Georgia, Mercer, North Carolina, Augusta (hosts), Houston, Virginia Tech, Air Force, Pepperdine and Oregon State. Eight of the 16 teams rank inside the top-40 in the nation, including two in the top-five in LSU and Oklahoma State.
The Johnnies will play 36 holes on Saturday and the final round on Sunday. The Red Storm line-up will feature Joseph Dolezal, Max McColgan, Eli Weidmann, David Mlynek and Frank Wu.
The Red Storm enter the tournament recording five top-three finishes over its last seven events, dating back to the fall. In its last appearance, St. John's took home third place in the 15-team field at the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, N.C. The Johnnies carded a 21-over, 885, over 54 holes and were led by a top-five from Dolezal, his second in the last three events.
