Sergej Zivkovic and Mats Pottbecker Named BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

Red Storm duo collects first conference recognition of their careers
NEW YORK – On Monday, the St. John's men's tennis duo of Sergej Zivkovic and Mats Pottbecker earned BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week honors, as announced by the conference.
The pair delivered a commanding performance on the No. 1 court, defeating Georgetown's Arthur O'Sullivan and Cyrus Zia, 6-0. Their victory to open doubles play sparked a dominant showing from the Red Storm, which carried through to a 6-1 win in the BIG EAST matchup.
With the victory, St. John's improved to 4-0 in conference play and 14-5 overall this season.
The honor marks the first weekly recognition of both Zivkovic's and Pottbecker's careers at St. John's. The duo is now 1-0 in completed matches together in 2026, with three additional contests going unfinished.
Following the win over the Hoyas, the Red Storm will return to action on Tuesday for a doubleheader against NJIT and Villanova. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. against the Highlanders,
followed by a 2:30 p.m. matchup with the Wildcats at the Villanova Tennis Complex.
