The Johnnies will open up the 2026-27 season on a four-game home stand, starting on Nov. 2, when they welcome Patriot League opponent Lafayette to Carnesecca Arena. St. John's has won each of its last five season openers by 15 points and or more and are 13-1 in its first contest of the season under Tartamella.
That ensuing Saturday on Nov. 7, the Red Storm takes on local opponent, Wagner, for the 19th all-time matchup. The Red Storm holds a 16-2 advantage in the all-time series. The season-opening four-game home swing will continue on Nov. 11 when St. John's hosts to Quinnipiac for the second straight season. The Johnnies have won two of the three meetings in the series against Bobcats, most recently using a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter to take a close come-from-behind victory last year on Veteran's Day, 53-51.
The Johnnies close out the home-stand on Saturday, Nov. 14, to face the defending A-10 Champions in Rhode Island. The Red Storm and Rams will meet for the 15th time, with St. John's leading the all-time series, 10-4.
On Nov. 18, Coach Tartamella's squad squares off, for the second straight year, against Big 12 opponent Oklahoma State, away, in a marquee showdown. The Johnnies hosted the Cowgirls in 2025 with St. John's coming out with a victorious upset, 74-67, over then-ranked No. 18/21 Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls added two-time All-American Audi Crooks and All-American Honorable Mention selection Liv McGill out of the portal this off-season.
The Red Storm will head to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. to take on the 2026 NCAA defending national champions, UCLA, on Nov. 24. Over Thanksgiving, the Red Storm will travel to Richmond, Va., for a pair of contests at the 4 Tha Culture Holiday Hoops Classic held at the Henrico Center. St. John's will open the event against Richmond on Nov. 27, before wrapping up tournament play against Dayton on Nov. 28.
