Lauren Spence Tabbed to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The defender made the Weekly Honor Roll after a 1-0-0 week for the Red Storm
NEW YORK – St. John's women's soccer defender Lauren Spence was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Spence made an impact on both ends of the pitch in the Red Storm's shutout victory over UMBC.
The junior earned the start and logged 69 minutes, recording an assist on Daisy Burt's second-half goal for the first point of her collegiate career. Spence also played a key role defensively, helping St. John's limit the Retrievers to eight shots and just two attempts on target en route to the Johnnies' second consecutive clean sheet.
The Eatontown, N.J., native has started all five matches this season, logging 429 minutes and helping anchor a Red Storm backline that has recorded a pair of shutouts.
Spence is just the third St. John's player to be honored by the league this season, alongside Kaya Bower and Telma Steindórsdóttir.
Spence and the Red Storm will close out a three-game road swing at 2 p.m. Thursday at Monmouth.
