Red Storm is set to compete in six races
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's Cross Country Head Coach Elliott Blount released the team's 2026 schedule on Monday morning.
The Red Storm is set to participate in six races this fall, with all but one taking place outside of New York state.
Blount returns a pair of middle-distance standouts. Naiara Garcia-Moreno, who will take to the trails for the third time during her St. John's tenure, solidified herself as one of the BIG EAST's top middle-distance specialists, carrying a personal-best time of 22 minutes, 19.6 seconds in the 6K set last season. Junior Attoya Harvey is set to suit up for the Red
Storm for her second season. Last year, Harvey recorded a career-best time of 23:30.7 in the 6K.
The Johnnies kick off the season on Friday, Sept. 11, at the Iona Meet of Champions for the third straight season. Known as one of the most challenging cross country courses on the East Coast, Van Cortlandt Park is set to host the competition for the 29th consecutive year.
St. John's follows with the Golden Eagle Invitational on Sept. 26 in Stony Brook, N.Y.
The Red Storm begins championship racing at the Metropolitan Cross Country Championships on Oct. 10 in Brookville, N.Y. Last year's meet marked the fifth consecutive season that Blount guided the program to a top-four finish. The Red Storm recorded a season-low 126 points as five Johnnies set new career-best times in the 5K.
On Oct. 17, the Johnnies will make their first of two trips to Bethpage State Park over the course of the season, competing in the ECAC Cross Country Championships.
St. John's then ventures to Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va., for the 2026 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships, presented by Jeep, on Oct. 30.
The Johnnies conclude the 2026 campaign at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Nov. 13 at Bethpage State Park.
