Miller On Viscusi: "Matt is one of our best defensive middies. He is also one of our smartest players. He is a field general for us at the defensive half and is a hard worker with exceptional character."
As A Junior (2008): Served as one of the three tri-captains ... played in 11 games ... had just one turnover for the season ... tallied nine ground balls ... collected three at Rutgers (March 29) for a career-best ... took shots against Siena (March 25) and at Georgetown (March 1) ... caused three turnovers including two against Massachusetts (April 5) ... earned ECAC All-Academic Team honors.
As A Sophomore (2007): Played in seven games ... notched a shooting percentage of 1.000, connecting on a perfect 2-of-2 shot attempts for goals ... scored his second career goal in the Red Storm's first-ever ECAC victory, against Rutgers (March 31), tying the game with just under a minute to play in the first half ... his second season goal came in a similar way at Penn State (April 14), when he found the back of the net as the horn blew for a last second goal opportunity in the first half, bringing the Red Storm within one goal before the start of the second period.
As A Freshman (2006): Played in 12 games, starting one ... scored lone goal of the season against Wagner (March 29) ... also tallied one assist against Hobart (April 22) ... totaled two points for the season ... took four shots and picked up 11 ground balls ... earned the "Unsung Hero Award" and the team student-athlete award ... was featured in a photo spread in U.S. Lacrosse Magazine ... inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
Before St. John's: Earned all-conference honors his junior season at Floral Park High School and was an all-county selection his senior year ... named academic all-conference his junior and senior seasons ... scored 61 points (32 goals, 29 assists) his senior season ... also played football and ran track.
