'We expect Ashley to play a larger role for us this year as a sophomore and she is ready for it. Her ability as a scorer is very important to our team as well as the energy she brings every day. She performed very well in our postseason game last year and we expect that for years to come.'
As A Freshman in 2012-13:
Saw action in 22 games and averaged 7.6 minutes per game... totaled 43 points and 28 rebounds... recorded her first collegiate points with a three-pointer at the 11:56 mark of the Red Storm[apos]s victory over UCF (Nov. 11)...scored two points and grabbed two rebounds against Hofstra (Nov. 17)...scored four points and set career-highs in minutes (23), rebounds (6), free throws (2-2) and steals (2) at Boston (Dec. 1)...tied a career-high scoring four points and grabbing three rebounds in 12 minutes of action against Pitt (Jan. 16)...scored three points, going 1-for-1 from 3, at Notre Dame (Jan. 20)...grabbed two rebounds at Providence (Jan. 30)...set career-highs in points (7), field goals (2) and three-point field goals (2) in just 14 minutes of play against Cincinnati (Feb. 17)...shot 1-for-1 from behind the arc against Rutgers (Feb. 23)...set new career-highs in points (17), field goals (6) and 3-pointers made (3) and tied career-highs in assists (2) and free throws (2) against No. 18/15 Dayton (Mar. 24) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
At Manchester:
The all-time leading scorer for the Manchester Indians ... averaged 20.5 points per game for her career ... team captain as a junior and senior ... averaged 24.0 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 4.0 spg and 4.0 apg as senior in 2011-12... reached the 2,000-point plateau against Windsor High in 2012 ... broke the Manchester record for points in a single game with 40 against Weaver High School in 2012 ... a two-time Hartford Courant Player of the Year (2012, 2011) ... named a three-time all-state player (2010-12) by the New Haven Register ... a four-time CCC North Division All-Conference honoree and a three-time CIAC (Connecticut Association of Schools) Class LL All-State guard. ... selected to the JCC All-Star Game MVP and the CHSCA All-Star Game MVP ... as a junior, she led the state of Connecticut in scoring with 24.3 points per game ... she broke the 1,000-point plateau and broke the Manchester career record with 1,436 points as a junior ... also led the team as a junior in assists (86), offensive rebounds (55), defensive rebounds (173) and steals (112) ... averaged 19.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 3.5 spg and 4 apg as a sophomore ... and 14.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 3.3 spg and 3 apg as a freshman in 2008-09.
