As a junior (2018-19): Had a career best in the 200 meter at the Fordham Indoor Season Opener running a time of 28.64 and placing 18th. At the Bill Ward Indoor Invitational, placed second in the 4x400 meter relay squad, running a team time of 4:10.09. In the 60 meter hurdles she recorded her best finish at the Bill Ward Invitational running a time of 11.30 and placing fifth. She received a second place finish at the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational in the 4x800 meter relay, running a combined 10:17.37. She also recorded a personal best in the 400 meter hurdles at the Tom Farrell Classic, running a 1:10.55 and giving her a third place finish.
As a sophomore (2017-18):
Freshman (2016-17): Saw action in two meets last season … Posted an 18th-place finish at the NYIT Invite (5K) with a personal-best in September (24:18.73) … Also competed in the Metropolitan Championships in October … Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
Before St. John’s: A four-year letterwinner on the Harborfields track and cross country teams … captain of her track team during her senior year … varsity letterwinner in soccer in 2013 … ran sprints and mid-distance races at Harborfields … was a nine-time All-League selection in high school and a two-time All-Country selection … won the Long Island USATF Track & Field Open Field Athlete of the Year Award in 2015 … owns seven Harborfields school-records in the 300-meter race, the long jump (spring/winter track), 4x400-meter relay (spring/winter track) and the 4x800-meter relay (spring/winter track) … chose St. John’s over Manhattan, UMass Amherst and Albany.
Personal: Daughter of Michael Greaves Sr. and Angela Greaves … nickname is Melly G … lists going to the beach as her hobby … is a first degree black belt … was a member of National Honor Society and Student Government in high school … listens to rap music on race days … came to St. John’s because of the diversity, the great academic opportunities and the track team … calls her parents the most influential people in her athletic career.
